You hit the nail on the head. You can remove a section and scarf in a new patch of monocote. Mark's is a good suggestion as well. If it's a pretty small area a little paint can go a long way. I'm big into scale too and like to keep a small collection of colored sharpies, paints, and white monocote around. Sometimes a minor repair is an excuse to add weathering!

You really can't unshrink it, so I would probably get a piece of Monokote Trim in the proper color and just cut a silver of it to cover the wood.  That's one nice thing about Monokote... the colors match.  Which brings to mind that you also could get come matching paint and just paint the wood.

If you need to get the wrinkle out, the only possibility is to cut out the piece and reapply. I have a RV9 that needed that.

Anyone on these boards consider himself a decent user of monocote?  I just got my Hangar 9 Mustang in the air this weekend and it flew incredibly well, but the monocote trim is not quite perfect.  I was able to remove most of the bubbles with a heat gun, but one of the edges on the cockpit shrunk while in the sun so there is a wrinkle below the cockpit edge now and a tiny piece of the wood is exposed.  It is not a huge deal, but I got into flying because I am into scale, so I am kind of a perfectionist when it comes to the appearance.  If anyone has experience working with monocote or knows someone that does, I could use a few tips on how to repair this (if possible) or just remove a section to patch the area.

Have a eflight blade sr I really don't fly anymore, crashed once and fixed up back to new, canopy has tape holding it together, end of left side landing gear is missing the front part but still is solid.. Pretty much rtf it's bound to my dx6i right now but I have the stock radio that will come with it. Just gotta set it back up for te stock radio

Hey FPV and APers,

After King 5 gaining an interest in my aerial photos that I post on their facebook page that I take from my funcub with my GoPro, they have asked to make a story about my setup. But I knew there was more than just me that did it, so I asked if I could include more AP/FPV setups. They were excited and quite interested to hear from more pilots!

The story is focusing on how drones, or for us, FPV, has become something any citizen can enjoy, legally, so FPV setups, either multi-rotor or fixed-wing will be fine. The story would probably be shot at 60 acres, so it would also advertise our club too.

The story will most likely be filmed on an upcoming weekend. One multi-rotor, one fixed wing, and maybe one heli would be enough. Kosh, maybe bring by your Magpie AP too. If you are interested in being a part of the story, there are only a few spots available. They asked for maybe 3-5 pilots, including me. Send me a PM if interested, and we'll set up a date for the story.
