How about a picture and descripton of your multi(s).

Increase

I'm just getting started so went very low budget.  It flies amazingly well, especially considering my limited skills.

I got the $14.99, V2.1 board from Hobby King, I see there is a V3 board out now (new processor?) - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store/__504__501__Multi_Rotors_Parts-Electronics.html and the AVR programmer.

Frame was the $14.99 V1 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store/__502__501__-Frames_26_Kits.html . Don't think much of this frrame, MUCH better options out there.  I'm thinking hard about this one http://www.blueskyrc.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=29 .  I like the camera mount in the front, of course he's sold out right now.

Motors/Props/ESC's and program card came from RCTimer.com, here's my list
Only thing else you need is an RX and battery.  Fast and easy to assemble.

I'd love to see one of these in action in real life...

Let us know when you are planning to take it to 60 acres

I am working on a tri and a quad copter.  The parts should be here next week..

rdjay, yours looks great - very distinctive color scheme :)

My budget was limited also, I can't believe v3.0 board is out, I bought two 2.1 boards 1.5 weeks ago!  Hah, oh well.

This is my Gaui 330X-S. (Christmas present to myself... merry merry late christmas).

Painted one half yellow for orientation. Yellow blade in front. White/Blue LED's. Gaui Protection Frame.

Have had good luck mounting a Contour Roam video camera.

The HK frame was pretty weak.  A couple sorta "hard" landings and it was broken.

Increase

Decided to give it a go DIY.  Likely a little heavier than some but can't beat the price.  Ply is 1/8" Light Ply.  Arms are 1/2" x 1/2" Poplar that I ripped down on a table saw.

Made the bottom ply plate extra long to mount my GoPro and move the battery back to balance.  Will see how that works out.  Top cover is from a bowl of mashed potatoes from KFC.

So far flies fine, I just need more practice!

Looks good!  How long are the arms?

The arms are 24" long end to end across the "X".  Just kind of a guess on my part, wanted to go a little larger than the HK frame to make room for the camera.  Seems some say they fly better if smaller so may shorten...

My 32" CF is $10 each, and want to use as little as possible.  16" arms are probably not long enough though.  Though it might be...I am thinking of seeing how stable that is.

Carbon is awesome but spendy......

I've heard of using Slow Stick booms.  Buy the fiberglass ones for a couple bucks each.  Then buy 3/8" square stock from Home Depot and Gorilla Glue the wood inside.  Makes for stong and light arms.

Also heard of guys using square aluminum "towel bar" rods from Home Depot.

Here's my new Aerial Photography / FPV system.  I am using a VC-450 Quad available from www.Hoverthings.com. Attached is a GoPro HD2 for recording video, a 620 line CCD TV camera, and a 100mW video transmitter with circular polarized antenna. On the ground, I'm using a set of FatShark Aviator goggles.  Video downlink is currently via 5.8GHz.

I flew it in my driveway for the first time yesterday.  Pretty cool, although the FPV system will take some getting used to. The field of view is narrow, and it can make you queasy because the attitude of the quad can change while your head remains still...your brain says "Huh?". I hear that it gets easier, though, with practice. It's neat to see things from the point of view of the aircraft.
